WELCOME TO HENDERSON SHORIN RYU

Welcome to Henderson Shorin Ryu. We are a traditional Okinawan style karate from the Kobayashi lineage which was brought to the U.S. in the early 60’s by founding WOSKKA (World Okinawan Shorin Ryu Karate & Kobudo Association) president Soke Sid Campbell 10th degree in Oakland, Ca. To become a Shorin Ryu student means to become part of a lineage that dates back over 400 years with tried and true techniques. We base our system on street smart defenses and honor Bushido, the “Way of the Warrior” emphasizing Discipline, Honor, Respect, Self-Control and Self Improvement.

TUITION AND FEES

Regular Evening and Morning Classes

   4 - 11 years             $40.00 per month

   12 - Adult                $45.00 per month

Family rates add an addtional $20.00 per extra student joining (ie. $40.00 + $20.00 = $60.00 per month)

Each student learns at their own pace and is promoted when the Sensei (teacher) feels that the student has an understanding of the techniques being taught. There are 3 areas that Sensei looks at for promotion: Body (physical training and attendance) - Mind (open mind for learning new techniques and attitude) - Spirit (the willingness and perseverance to keep training).
